Our husbands aren't jacking off to the sight of you, and we're not sitting with our friends drinking beers, watching and laughing while you hula hoop with our toddler.

References are well and good, but they're not everything.

really enjoy watching it from me to you ! I don't give a Damn about the reference I joint playing with babies making them laugh . When the parent come home they don't give them love they deserve some parents don't deserve to have a kid they set the baby on there Lab. And parents sit there lab and computer and gossip about other peoples business on the computer people abuse sites tell lie

I would advise against it. I personally think a camera is to gain trust in your nanny that she would treat your charges when no one is around, since you can not have a camera watching every move 100% of the time. If you disclose, the behavior changes and you don't know what she is doing to the kid when there is no camera.

A lot of nannies will tell you that you must disclose but I think this is their way of "winning" in a power struggle. Many will threaten to quit but the same people also complain about living paycheck to paycheck and needing guaranteed hours and such and I highly doubt that they would quit with no notice on the spot if they found a camera. I think if they were so difficult that they could not work under a camera, they'd have a hard time finding a job too, and they'd take months to find a new job while you'd have a replacement in 2 weeks.

I've worked for a handful of different companies, some very large. All of them had cameras. No one ever disclosed them to me, on HR orientation day or after.

I am not a nanny but you sound like the wicked witch. God help your nanny and I imagine that they do not stay very long. I feel even sorrier for your DH and children. You are truly a horrible, horrible excuse for a human being.

This is why there's such a problem. Stupid parents will take all of one day to find and hire a new nanny. It's called the revolving nanny door. Those poor kids get attachment disorders.

Uh, my kids are 8 and they are very well rounded. Thank you. You nannies seem to think that you are hot stuff and so indispensable but the truth is there are tons and tons and tons of "caring attentive" people out there. No real skills are needed except the skills you learned as children playing well and being nice and making simple meals. When we dropped our rate a bit it took a while but when we advertise "competitive rate" I get a resume about one every 20 minutes on my email. After 24 hours, I have about 50 and one of those are a good fit. Thank you very much.

I see it over and over on this bulletin board where the nannies really have no cards to play and are so bitter about it. If you are an excellent nanny and smart and play your cards right, you can get a job working with children as a teacher. There is a real certified teacher shortage right now and you can easily get a job making 50-70k plus benefits. Fact is, you are not smart, you didn't work hard, and you didn't play your cards right in life. Deal with it.

There are a number of nannies certified to teach who simply don't want to deal with 20-30 sets of parents all sure that their child is perfect. They don't have the time to teach everything which is required, give advanced students extra work and guidance, make sure that students who don't understand have the necessary one-on-one help and deal with the inevitable behavior problems. Add in all the work outside of the school day, the violence that crops up even in elementary schools, and all the other crap that teachers face, and it's no wonder nannies don't want to teach. I don't, not after volunteering in an early elementary school for two years. I saw a student throw a desk at the teacher across the room, but all she could do was remove the other children from the classroom. Another teacher had me working with three students one-on-one for 30 minutes each day because they transferred in during the first couple weeks of school, and the parents wouldn't consent to the kids repeating kindergarten, even though they didn't know all their letters and sounds. I did copying, die-cuts, laminating, anything to keep them in the classroom with the students and free up their time before and after school for extra tutoring. Teaching is a worthy profession, but why would a nanny want to do it?

So, in your estimation, a nanny makes simple meals, teaches a young child to share and other manners, but that's about it? I'm glad that you were happy with that. However, I do much more, as do many nannies, and compensation should reflect that. If you want a babysitter who will keep your child safe and not do much else, great. But a nanny does so much more.

Lool its so funny to me how these mothers attack nannies on here based on intelligence. Yes English isn't my first language, heck I learned it 5 years ago but I will speak some truth to you tonight. Listen, nannies are hard working people and shouldn't be regarded any less.

You want to instal a camera and review footage later, then you sure as hell have the time on your hand to watch your kids. Nannies make it possible for you to go sit in your cushioned CAMERA FREE office and change the world; they make it possible for you to go on that business trip; they make it possible for you to stay a little late to finish that project; and they sure as hell make it possible for you to bring home the bacon.

We all can bicker here but at the end of the day we are co-dependent. I may be biased toward nannies because I was one and know the hard work that goes in. Heck I met a lot of moms at parks and classes who whined all the time about how hard it was to stay home with their kids for free. Apply that feeling toward your caregivers because at the end of the day all nannies want is appreciation and a little trust. That's not too much to ask here, ladies.
