If you truly cared about this helpless human being that is your child then you would not outsource its care, would you? The absurd best and safest care for your child is you.

I do the next best thing which is to make money for him to get a college education, be able to support him to 22-23 years so that he/she doesn't become a minimum wage worker, like a nanny.

Then I get a nanny and get a camera to make sure she does her job.

Then I check boards like this to make sure I am doing all that I can, and what I should look out for. I learn that there are some nasty nannies out there that I need to avoid so I look at the camera feed even more to make sure I don't have one of those nannies.

Nannies aren't minimum wage workers sweetheart, and many of us have or are in pursuit of an education. Try having some damn respect for the woman caring for your kid and maybe you could attract a nanny that doesn't require you to work a full time job AND watch her every move. That sounds sad and exhausting.

There is one nanny who calls people sweetie when she's has no more arguments up her sleeve. She is probably 19 years old.

I have no respect for people can't even have a civilized conversation on an internet forum that they have to use curse words to make others feel bad. You make a living working with children and call yourself a nanny? You do it while calling for respect. You definitely did not earn mine.

Hidden cameras should be reserved just for the special breed of DCUM nannies. If you think you have a DCUM nanny, get one. Otherwise, your nanny is probably fine and if you want to see your kids, get a non-hidden camera.

Tell the nanny you have a camera. 1) It is the right thing to do, and 2) if you see the nanny doing something you don't want her to do, or you see her on the phone too much, how do you bring that up without explaining you have a camera? 3) giving the nanny notice she is being recorded prevents bad behavior. Isn't it better to prevent than to catch bad behavior? I've had two nannies for my children. None of the nannies I interviewed ever said they had a problem with the presence of cameras. One asked that we let her know who has acces to viewing the video (would it just be the parents or grand parents too?). That was it. I have known people who have told their nanny they had a camera, but didn't actually have one. Also, unless you buy the super expensive hidden cameras, they're pretty obvious so I don't see the point in the secrecy.

I did that. My nanny avoided the camera areas and I've seen nannies pick up babies with one hand, handle without care while sitting on the back porch. I know she is not doing that in front of MB. I have talked to that mom about the nanny. She was still around for moms and then put the baby in daycare. I have seen nannies be neglectful on the playground. Disclosed cameras create secret behavior.

nice rationalization to playing on your smartphone while "providing full-time childcare".

An employer absolutely has to divulge when cameras are being used and whether they are audio and visual. I also make it clear that I completely support the use of cameras and I'm happy to keep the children in monitored areas. However, I do need a bathroom that the camera cannot see into, especially if you're taking care of an infant and toddler and need to leave the door open to know they're ok while you do your business.

I think using cameras to try and catch a nanny doing wrong is a gamble I don't think any reasonable parent should take. Why wait for a questionable person to harm, or otherwise neglect your child? Should you have the misfortune of hiring a shady person, they will be immediately accountable b/c they know they're being watched. On the other hand, I support cameras so that there is documentation about how I treat the child. I am a trustworthy person, and God forbid I ever work for a crazy person that wants to make false accusations against me if ever the relationship went sour.

you are so annoying here is how you look at it.if you tell her she's doing her job regardless. Which that's what you want her to do. Which you can prove buy watching the footage. If you have nothing to do with peoples personal life did you get it ... Why is it so hard for you not to think she is human just like YOU!! The nanny doing her job that's what matters to Me You must tell that you have a Camera don't fool out of yourself by sitting down expecting most nannys have a better life then what we expect sorry!

if have fear quit your job and watch your own baby. I personally don't want to see somebody's private part.if you have that much love for your child why bothering others. I suggest You quit your job and raise your child ... I stop working I raise my daughter three and half years and after that I start working what's wrong with that ??if you got much love no need to worry about it to spend money for the camera and go nuts why bothering with Others I'm just saying !!
