"Hackers" love to watch nannies watching tv and folding clothes.

If she's watching tv and folding your clothes, she's a babysitter, not a nanny. Nannies know better than to use the idiot box. But whatever she is, I hope she's doing a lot more than that.

I've employed MANY nannies in the last 4 years and I can tell you I am being very generous with my assumptions of what they actually do.

Then I was right. You've employed sitters, not nannies. There's a huge difference.

You aren't the only one spying on the nanny and your kid. Too creepy for me.

Here is a suggestion to all parents who thinks Nannies are TRASH stay home with your children and use the baby cam and at night you and your family can sit back and watch family videos.

If you're watching the camera, you aren't doing your office work.

The above link explains how easy it is to hack nanny cams.
That's my biggest concern. You have no idea how it can be used.

I haven't heard a single parent here refer to their nannies as trash. Shame on you.

They can hack into your other devices, too. Cover the camera viewer unless you want people watching you.

So odd how certain parents aren't actually concerned.

If you are that concerned that a random stranger might try to hack a camera to watch you feeding a 1 year old, and your employer wants a nanny cam, you should find another job. Just my personal opinion. I don't have a cam or want a cam, but video monitoring of a workplace is a common thing.

Your "workplace" has regulations in place, correct?
Of course they do.

When you hire a nanny your home becomes a place of business lady.

As a nanny I would never accept cameras. Do you all mothers have cameras at work that monitor your every move? Respect your nannies. And if you do not trust them around your home do not hire them and trust with your kid at the first place. What re you gonna do? Put cameras at the park, libraries or any other place the nanny takes your kids?

Nanny cameras are easy to hack to spy on your child.

I would never hire a nanny who wouldn't accept the presence of cameras. Period.

In all fifty states, it is legal to have a camera in your home , hidden or not.
You do not have to disclose this by law.

Audio, on the other hand is illegal in 13 “two-party” states.

You are required to a.)Fully disclose to a person that they are being audio recorded and b.)Receive consent from the other party either by having them sign a consent form or recording them saying they give consent.

If you don’t have tangible proof that they consented to the audio, then you will get in trouble later on if sued.
The other party can say they never consented to audio and you would have zero evidence that they did.
