What you are doing is just wrong.
Even if she agreed to this "highway robbery" rate, you should take the initiative and pay her what she is worth. She probably is financially strapped and needs the money in a big way. To me, it seems you are taking full advantage of her situation.

Do the right thing as a mother and an employer.
Pay her a fair and competent wage. If you have two children, I suggest you pay her at least twelve dollars per hr.

By underpaying her, you take the chance that another family will see how great she is and snatch her up.

Trust me, us nannies discuss our salaries when you are not around and once she finds out she is making peanuts compared to what others make, she will look for another position.
Sooner or later, you will realize you really do get what you pay for in life.
