There are no "leftover" vaccines. If we're not careful, we're not going to have enough doses left to give the second dose on time, then the people who already had one dose will need to have the first one again.

Yes there is. People don't show up for appointments. You do know one vial has multiple doses and can't be saved.

People in the primary phases don't want to get vaccinated.

That is why we are in this mess. Too much overthinking and red tape. That is why we are in this mess.

+1. Our au pair is trying to get it without our encouragement. We told her plainly that the 1b category isn't meant to apply to her, but she doesn't care. She's being selfish as hell, but I can't say I'm surprised--she's not a kind or conscientious person. I suppose we could put our foot down but I'm sure she'd leave. I'm beyond frustrated and embarrassed by the situation.

Yes AP’s are getting vaccinated in VA. Two au pairs in our au pair’s group posted their vaccination doc’s they received at VHC on Facebook.

What is crazy is that these APs think they will now be able
To freely socialize. But the host families likely will still impose some restrictions. So I don’t know why they are so excited

This is not true, and Fauci has said as much. Please don’t spread misinformation.

vaccine sites were purposely set up in communities that are the hardest hit. Many who need it the most don't have the luxury of sitting around on the internet each day and navigating the websites to set up appointments. Many who need it the most don't have jobs that are super flexible to go get a vaccine when an appointment becomes available. Do you know who does have this luxury? Au pairs. And honestly, it's not just au pairs but those in wealtheir communities travelling to poorer communities. It's grotesque

Yup. Just like they thought that they could party it up and "just take a test" and not quarantine.

+1. And what got us in this mess are people being selfish like PP and not following the rules (Not social distancing, no masks, traveling all over, taking the vaccine when it is not your turn, etc), that is why we got into this mess and will be stuck there for ages.

My au pair said yesterday she heard (via her What’s App au pair group) that one agency (she thinks Cultural Care) sent an email telling the au pairs they would qualify in the “child care” phase.
Anonymous
My agency sent a letter, but it is being misinterpreted by the APs. The letter is just documentation that the AP is working and providing childcare.

It does not attempt to interpret what the CDC/Governments consider "childcare" for this purpose. Of course, the APs don't want to listen.

My AP had an appt this week in PG county. She went and was sent home. They told her to get it in MoCo.

Why? Because childcare is an eligible reason in MoCo or because they don’t care?

they were blowing her off.

PG County is having a lot of problems with people coming from other counties.

GOOD. FOR. PG COUNTY.

Our au pair and her friends all got vaccinated so they can travel next week.

You realize you’re enabling her by letting her travel...
