Why have your previous nannies been so bad and how many have you had? I know this is not always the answer but maybe you need to look at what you are offering. If you are offering a fair, competitive rate and benefits you really shouldn't be having so much "bad luck".

We had 2 nannies before. The first one was always on her Facebook or texting her friends. Instead of taking care of the baby she was doing some exercises

The second one was always late - Every single day. Sometimes even 40 minutes. When her grand kids got sick, She didn't come for three weeks.. ! And she didn't worry about the backup care.

We are offering fair, competitive rate and all the benefits.

No, you aren't. Sorry.

I believe my daughter as she NEVER makes up things.

What would you do ?

Bottom line: She believes her child. Then why is she still paying the woman?? Very confusing.
I work full time and finding a new nanny takes time. This is the only reason.

Are you a single parent?

No, I'm not. We both work full time.

I honestly don't really understand this train of thought. I'm not trying to be rude or difficult I'm just honestly trying to understand. I totally get how hard it is to find a new nanny but if you are 100% certain this actually happened then you suck it up and find a new nanny. If the point of your original post was whether or not to believe your DD that's a different story but since you are so certain your DD is telling the truth then I don't understand why you would continue to let the nanny take care of your child. It is NEVER ok for her to hit your child. If it was me the nanny would already be gone.

Agree. I'd be taking care of my own child, if there was ANY question. No career is worth letting your child be abused or neglected. What's your problem, OP?

A slap is hardly abuse. Sometimes you have to trust the nanny that she knows what she is doing.

Shame on you. Please go away.

That has nothing to do with this. Whether or not you think it's ok for someone to spank their own children is not the same as doing to it someone else's child!

My mom was a great mom and anyone would think it was out of her character to let her kids touch wine or anything, but I remember she would always let me and my brother drink her wine if we wanted. We each tried it occasionally to see if it had started to taste better but it was always gross. Now neither of us drink wine or any alcohol, but at the time I could totally see going up to someone and saying she let me drink her wine. And if I wanted to impress them I might even say I finished the whole thing! I think most things kids say have a grain of truth in them.

References are...well...fake sometimes. Gasp! If you talked to people or met people they might have very well been her friends. Not actual employers. Since you didn't get her through an agency this is even more likely.

Either way. If she hit your daughter you need to fire her. It actually IS that simple. I personally would also report her to the proper authorities. Once something like that happens you can't really trust her anymore, can you? Especially since she lied about it. If you don't have a nanny cam yet, now would be the time to install one. Then you won't have to deal with lying anymore, you will have proof.
