Nanny slapped my child.. I know because my daughter told me all the details. When confronted, nanny denied. She said that my daughter made it up.

I believe my daughter as she NEVER makes up things.

What would you do ?

If you believe your daughter, you fire her. Simple.

OP, your description is a bit over the top, so I call troll.
If not, then it's outrageous that you're asking us if you should pay a woman who is hitting your child.
Where did you find her?
Please get some parent training.

Don't be so harsh in your judgment!

Nanny has great references so I would never thought she might do such a thing..

It happened only once. However, she did it.

I am harsh because child abuse/neglect is nothing to fool around with.
I don't know what exactly you mean be "great" references.

Look, either you are 100% certain that tou trust your nanny and you believe that your kid made it up, or you are 100% certain that you trust your kid and you fire the nanny.
