Some parents are slobs. Get a new job.

I would have taken it to a car wash to get detailed and brought the receipt back or used the petty cash. They said clean it, not how.

Nanny here. When the minivan at work needs to be cleaned, I remove the trash and toys and take it to the car wash.

It's not outrageous that they asked you to clean it. Clean up the clutter in there if they don't want the carpets vacuumed and windows cleaned.

I have a nanny van for just me while I work. I could not think of sitting in yuck for 3 months. My own personal car - I clean every other week or so (when I fill up on gas).

I get the kids to help me once a week. The youngest is 1 and he loves playing with the hose. The older boys get the inside. It's never perfect but we do it together.

OP here,

It is THEIR car that I drive and we call it the "nanny car". I have my own car when I am off duty.

1. The car was trashy before I started, so I don't feel it is my responsibility to clean out a car that was messy prior to me starting

2. THIS CAR HAS NOTHING OF MINES IN IT, its not MY car! I have my own car as stated before.

3. The kids are old enough to pick up after themselves.

4. If MB had asked me to supervise and not clean filth that wasn't/isn't mines, then that would of been totally different!

I'm not a housekeeper do not expect me to come in your already messy house and clean after you!

OP again,

And yes they drive the van when I am not here, yes they leave dishes from the weekend and overnight for me to load into the dishwasher, yes they always seem to run hours late often (luckily I'm still compensated).

Original agreement was to care for kids, load dishwasher, and do kids laundry. Not take care of personal tasks like cleaning the van you and your kids ride around in when I'm off duty then expect me to clean it. Not one thing in the van is mine, I don't consider it mine. It is just a car I drive when I am here.

I clean my own car, thank you.

OP, you sound angry and entitled. Not my kind of nanny.

Luckily, I am not your nanny then.

I'm not angry at all. I just don't like to taken advantage of, then come back here to all loads of crap because clearly these responders don't understand what is going on here.

OP I wouldn't worry about it because its likely that you will get fired in the next few months anyway. Any MB who has to ask the nanny to clean the nanny car and has a nanny with such a bad attitude as you do, is looking for alternative arrangements.

Can't fire someone who's already going to be gone. I have a new job offer just as we speak. But thanks for your concern!

BTW, I've never had an attitude with MB even in this situation.. she doesn't even know that I was upset about it.

Your a complete fool, it isn't the type of "nanny car" you think it is. Why don't you go back and read previous posts before your respond.

You are so right. Keep hiring and firing. There's always another "nanny" waiting for the opportunity for you to take advantage of her.

What a happy world your child has.

And we wonder why our kids our raging, down the road.

So lovely.

+1

Good luck finding an MB who coddles you the way you expect OP.

It is hardly being coddled to expect to not have to clean up someone else's mess.
