My understanding is that the act requires employers with less than 500 employees to pay for 12 weeks of paid leave if an employee has children off from school and 2 weeks (in addition to other paid leave) if they or a member of their family is infected with coronavirus. Will the exemption for 50 or fewer employees if the leave would threaten a business as a 'going concern' likely apply in this instance? If not, is anyone considering laying off their nanny before April 1 to avoid paying the 12 weeks? Thoughts please. |

However, what I’m suggesting to everybody If your boss has a business with up to 150 employees: They’re all getting paid for at least 2 weeks in full!!!!!!! Another up to 10/12 weeks if: They’re taking care of a covid sick family member If schools are closed And if they don’t have childcare available So any nanny don’t let these families take advantage of you!!!! My employee doesn’t want to pay me at all, but I cannot quit and she doesn’t want to fire me, telling me how her husband has a hard time lying his employees Guess what! His employees are getting a two weeks paid vacation paid by the president of the United States!!!! |

You’re misreading. Employers of 50-150 are required to pay for 2 weeks of quarantine/sick leave, then up to 10 weeks of time off to care for children or sick household members, but they aren’t being fully reimbursed. |
How much are they paying, if you’re saying they’re not fully reimbursed?
Besides, they’re getting tax brakes and non interest loans Trust me, they don’t lose any money or not a lot And taking out interest free loans, they’re actually saving a lot of money!!!!

It applies to small businesses with 50+ employees. Nobody has 50 domestic staff. We’re not a part of it, so don’t count your chickens yet. |
