Her street wasn't plowed and her kid is sick. Maybe it's this winter taking its toll on me, but I am starting to question her reliability after numerous snow days, etc. |
Grow up, lady. |
?? Are you not expected to go to work even though schools are closed and your kid may be sick? |
Are you expected to heed blanket recommendations,
to STAY HOME? Yes, you are, for obvious reasons, Einstein. |
I would be really annoyed. Luckily I have a reliable mature nanny. |
?? |
Be annoyed at the weather, OP, not your nanny!! Do you have to go into work today? Does your DH? |
Yes and yes. Hence I am annoyed. |
I would be annoyed. We have to work and so should your nanny! It's a bad winter, yes, but we pay our nanny very well and expect her to be at work. |
DH and I both work in hospitals and we always are required to go to work. Our nanny understood this when she accepted the position and has never missed a day of work for weather or any other reason.
I'm sorry, OP. You may need to find another nanny with whom you can make accept completely that there is no such thing as a snow day. Also hire someone who can walk to your home even if it is a distance. |
Then I would be angry as well. And I am a nanny. |
If her kid is sick, it sounds like she would be out anyway for a sick day. |
Im a live in nanny with no children. My bosses wanted a live in nanny with no children so they wouldn't have to worry about snow days or sick children. |
Yes, your nanny should be able to make it in today. The last minute I am not making announcements are the hardest to manage as a nanny employer. |
The world does not revolve around you. No you should not be annoyed. Life happens, as I'm sure it has happened to you as well. Have some decency, show some compassion, and get the fuck over it. |
