Fire her.

Honestly, it's tough to find a good nanny and disruptive to the kids that have bonded with her during a very isolating year. If you are vaccinated, I wouldn't worry. Very, very rare kids get sick. And, if she is careful, unlikely she will even get sick.

I'm a nanny for the same family for 6 years now. The parents are vaccinated. They told me it is my choice if I want to get vaccinated. It never crossed their mind to fire me over my choice. I really don't get it. If you are vaccinated why you are so worried about her vaccination???? I'm a very healthy person. Why should I get vaccinated with something that is only approved for EUA???

Thank God you’re not my nanny, you sound very uneducated.

If you get sick, you won’t get severly ill or die. You are less likely to spread because there will be much lower viral load in your body.

What percentage of younger people have died of covid?

Why take a chance? And nannies come in all ages.

Nannies out there-unless you truly have a medical reason to avoid vaccinations, get the shot! It helps protect you. It helps protect others. It protects all families. Yes it may seem unfair but after the past year employers are going to be keeping vaccinated childcare workers or looking to hire vaccinated childcare workers.
If nanny chooses not to get vaccinated for no real medical reason what do we do, we are both fully vaccinated now and have 2 elementary age children.
Are you high risk?

Speak for yourself. Their bodies, their choice. Maybe they want to get pregnant someday, and don’t want to be your experiment.

I hope you aren’t a nanny, PP.

That’s fine, but they either need to seek out anti-vaxxers as employers or consider a different line of work.

I wouldn’t want someone stupid and selfish looking after my kids, so I’d definitely fire this nanny.

- from a nanny who only knows ONE nanny who is unvaccinated, and she’s a conspiracy theory believing idiot trump supporter

NP. My kids are currently quarantined because our nanny is not vaccinated and her husband has Covid. Yes, it is a huge inconvenience (this is her 3rd quarantine and we have paid for all of them). I respect her choice not to get vaccinated, but she won’t be able to work for my family if that is the case.
