if you had bothered to read the post directly above yours, you’d see sometimes it is a bank error. Sometimes sometimes merging obscurs the account number, or the check is eaten by the machinery, or automatic transfers don’t happen, or deposits take an extra day to clear etc. There are MANY excusable reasons for this to happen. Many. Grow up.

Our HHI is just under $400K and we gave our nanny $3,000, plus earrings from Tiffanys, a calendar of pictures of her and our children, and a Christmas ornament from our children.

Great gift!

Nannies are the most expensive form of childcare. Perhaps you should look into alternatives you could afford?

You know, people keep saying this about things like raises, bonuses, extra $$ ... But the reality is that the vast majority of nanny positions are not in high net worth households. A lot more families can pull together a mid-range salary for the year, a lot more than you'd make in any other childcare situation, but not as much as you'd make in the perfect nanny position. If all those families left the market, there'd be a glut of nannies.

LOL. I wish someone would compile a list of all the reasons DCUM nannies will quit a job on the spot. Should be hysterical.

Same number as the MBs who write "I would fire her on the spot" for every issue anyone ever posts about any nanny.

And "LOL" is really over, PP. No one uses it anymore.

Except that they are always urging another Nanny to "quit today," "run," "get out." I shudder to think how many Nannies have given up jobs for some trivial reason on this kind of advice only to have to secure new jobs which might not be as good.

It’s over when everyone stops using it, pp. Cool was over in the 80’s and people still use it.

I got $1100, a gift card for a restaurant I like and a beautiful photo of me and my NK.

We didn’t give $1000 initially but started at $500 and increased the amount by $100 each year, in addition to personal gifts, annual raises and perks auch as reimbursing insurance premiums and adding more holidays and PTO. We try to do more each year since our nanny ups her game each year, too.

Just started my fourth year with my nanny family, I work part time after school and evenings. My gifts included $200 cash, a gift certificate to get my car detailed, which is a $200 value (I do a lot of driving with the kids in my car), a nice candle & hand cream which are two things I love, and a few other small gifts.
