1) has never been late to work - I mean, never - not once - for any reason

2) always arrives for work in a good mood or seemingly good mood every single day

3) never talks or texts unless she is talking or texting to the parents or for the children (playdates, doctor's appts, etc)

Isn't being your best, a process, not a product?

That has nothing to do with the questions asked. It is not a process to not be late, nor to not show your bad mood or to not text. None of these are skills you are trying to master - you just do them.

If you're already doing them, what's your problem?

Yes to all three. I am a nanny and I have never once been late to work, always arrive in a good mood even if I'm faking it and only carry a cheap flip-phone that I use to reach the parents only.

So... do I win something?!

I am just asking the questions. Clearly you cannot say yes to all three - fine. I'm just asking.

He's never been late and is always in a good mood. Even when he's jet-lagged he's still happy. I have no idea if he texts about non-child related things (I assume he does), but do know that when I'm out in the neighborhood on weekends store owners and neighbors come over to tell me how great he is with the kids and involved.

Yes to all of the above, I don't even take my cell with me to work

I'm never late usually park up the street 10-20 minutes early, always put a smile on even when sick but I do make phone calls and text when babies are sleeping. I work 7am-6pm m-f which is only time most places like a doctor is open. It's unreasonable to ask that your nanny never uses the phone to make calls while on duty. I bet you're allowed to make personal calls/texts at work (actually if you're /callingtexting your nanny from work you're doing exactly what you don't want her to do) I bet you also call doctors etc.

Op are you ever late getting home to relieve your nanny? Do you always put on a happy face when walking in the door? Do you use your phone while at home with your kids? I'd ask if you use it at work but you obviously do if your nanny is texting/calling you

I have never been late (I work very close to the families I work with) and I like to think I always show up in a good mood (I don't let much bother me) but I use my phone and text a lot (person texts) during breaks and at least read my texts as they come in when I am working incase it's from mom or dad or maybe otherwise important to me, but if it's not important I won't write back until I get a break.

Not OP but when an MB walks in her door - she is HOME. She can text or call anyone she wants as she isn't working and actually doesn't need to come home in a good mood. A better question is does MB ever mad any personal calls from her work and does she show up to her office in a seemingly good mood and is never late for her job.

You think that's an acceptable excuse for your nastiness? I don't.
Do you regard your spouse in the same manner? I hope not.

In one year I've never been late to my nanny job. I make a point to be five minutes early everyday, the closest to being late was arriving one minute early one time I'm always happy or at least pretending. I do text occasionally and especially during nap time, during a kids movie and when the kids are playing independently.

Perhaps OP wants to know if she can measure up to her nanny.

Honestly that is not your business. MB doesn't have the right to ask how you are when you go home. And a nanny is not a spouse.
BTW - I am a nanny.
