Hello everybody!
Where can I Get CPR certificacion in Maryland ? Montgomery county to be specific....price etc! Thanks in advanced! |
Look up Red Cross and the American Heart Association |
I did online courses for first aid and CPR (infants, child and adult).
I think it was like something like 35.00 for all?? |
Op here! Website please! Did u get the card and everything? |
Be careful of the online courses. There are tons of scams out there, and if the parents want real CPR training, most won't cut it. You can't really learn CPR without doing the practice on the dummies.
|
If you've had classes before with the dummies - than why not do an online class? I had a paramedic tell me years ago it didn't matter what class. I will get you the site OP. I think it's on my cards - yes I got cards and a wall certificate (which I find pointless I only card the card and if I need to show it I do) |
Try ecprcertification.com Phone 866-608-6129 |
Your employer can accept whatever type of CPR, they want. It's not like there are standards for households. However, courses like the above are crap. Reading about CPR and then taking a 16 question mĂșltiple choice quiz just doesn't compare to an in person, several hour course when you practice simulations.
If you are interested in a card (and handsome wall certificate for $6.95 more) take an online course and get it done in about 30 minutes. If you want to know how to perform CPR, go to the American Red Cross website and look up a real class. Sorry to be so strident, but I work in the medical field. I just find it kind of depressing that on a site where there are so many people talking about high end, professional nannies, no one seems to care about half assing CPR training. |
Really ??? I'm the nanny from above and I have taken CPR classes since a teen - every few years when they expire. This time I didn't feel I needed a class in a room with a bunch of people who never took a class and spending tons of money. I am in,my 30s and probably have taken over 10 classes. I could probably teach it. Guess what tons of classes are online! Amazing isn't it!!! If my employers aren't going to pay me back for classes I'm going to pick one that works for me,my time and my budget. And yes I now work with a high end family - I'm in Los Angeles & they don't care as long as I know what to do in an emergency until help arrives they are fine. You say you work in the medical field - how do you feel about your coworkers who took a lot of their classes online? Are they not as good as you? Get over yourself - everything is moving online. |
Not sure about where pp in the medical field works, but at my hospital you have to have a different cpr certification (for medical professional s) and the hospital only accepts the Red Cross or Heart Association. Online classes are not allowed. The date and place where the certification was done is listed on the back of the card. |
LA nanny- which CPR is taught online? Is it the healthcare professional one (breathing and chest compressions) or the new hands free cpr? Just curious as I haven't heard much about the hands only one and since you've been taught both, if you did the class on hands only, what your opinion on the difference is. Do they still certify for an AED as well?
As an RN, I have to be certified with the breathing /chest compression as well as the AED. |
I'm the PP in the medical field. None of my colleagues took online classes, as they are not allowed. The official classes are moving to online portions, but they still all have in person checkouts to make sure you can demonstrate the skills.
Like I said, a private employer can accept whatever they want. If you just need a quick refresher, cool. But if you are that expert in CPR, how can you recommend this as a general solution for folks? You are seriously saying there's a comparison between reading a few links and answering 16 multiple choice questions and doing a half day, in person, hands on learning experience? |
YMCA typically offers classes and will certify you. |
You parents should accept ONLY Red Cross, or Am Heart Asso. AHA is really the best. Ask any cardiologist.
Don't compromise your child's safety. This is basic parenting 101. |
I was able to take it for free when offered by the nanny agency I was working with at the time. |
