Reading about CPR and then taking a 16 question mĂșltiple choice quiz just doesn't compare to an in person, several hour course when you practice simulations.

If you are interested in a card (and handsome wall certificate for $6.95 more) take an online course and get it done in about 30 minutes. If you want to know how to perform CPR, go to the American Red Cross website and look up a real class.

Sorry to be so strident, but I work in the medical field. I just find it kind of depressing that on a site where there are so many people talking about high end, professional nannies, no one seems to care about half assing CPR training.

This is true. The only good CPR classed online also make you go in somewhere to prove that you can do the in-person stuff as a requirement for the card. You study online, go in for a brief "show what you have learned" session and pay a smaller fee at that time since you didn't have to go in for the 5 hour class with them.

Agencies have no authority to certify you.

MB here. I only accept Red Cross or AHA certification, in person. The online classes are terrible.
