Your employer can accept whatever type of CPR, they want. It's not like there are standards for households. However, courses like the above are crap. Reading about CPR and then taking a 16 question mĂșltiple choice quiz just doesn't compare to an in person, several hour course when you practice simulations. If you are interested in a card (and handsome wall certificate for $6.95 more) take an online course and get it done in about 30 minutes. If you want to know how to perform CPR, go to the American Red Cross website and look up a real class. Sorry to be so strident, but I work in the medical field. I just find it kind of depressing that on a site where there are so many people talking about high end, professional nannies, no one seems to care about half assing CPR training.
Really ??? I'm the nanny from above and I have taken CPR classes since a teen - every few years when they expire. This time I didn't feel I needed a class in a room with a bunch of people who never took a class and spending tons of money. I am in,my 30s and probably have taken over 10 classes. I could probably teach it. Guess what tons of classes are online! Amazing isn't it!!! If my employers aren't going to pay me back for classes I'm going to pick one that works for me,my time and my budget. And yes I now work with a high end family - I'm in Los Angeles & they don't care as long as I know what to do in an emergency until help arrives they are fine. You say you work in the medical field - how do you feel about your coworkers who took a lot of their classes online? Are they not as good as you? Get over yourself - everything is moving online.
