OP:
Congratulations on your raise!!

Don't let the haters on here rain on your parade.

+1 The negativity is because it's DCUM - didn't you know that all nannies are unappreciated and underpaid?

Didn't you know because of MB like you this site is going down.

Exactly. I've noticed the reduced traffic.

I hope this family is making it worth it for you in some other way since pay is not up to par (especially considering you were severely underpaid before your your 45% increase. your employers sounds like sly foxes!)

Agree with this.

Why bring back a two plus year post? I don’t get it.

Then don’t respond if you don’t get it.

Doesn’t work that way. This forum is for opinions, advice and questions.

Why bring back such an old thread?!

Especially a thread about salary?

Nannies please don't ever accept a low wage. These parents can afford to pay you but low bawl it to see if you will accept. Ask at least $20 for one child and $25 for two and always make sure they are willing to pay your insurance separately and at least 2 weeks off per year. They know nannies need to make a living too and daycare always an option for those who can't afford it. Good luck out there.

What!?! NP here. It is because of all the unnecessarily nasty comments (like yours) that this site can be frustrating.

because all nannies to newborns who nap 3x a day must be getting $25/hour minimum with 2 $ raises each year.

Non merci. I don't need to beg anyone for chump change my dear. I left nannying behind (encourage others to do same) a long time ago to pursue my education. I am on my way to high wages and starting my own business in about 2 years. childcare is very low paying, endless dead ends, and not much appreciation. I am on this website basically to encourage nannies to get out of there and look for opportunities somewhere else. The end.
