Agencies guess what, nannies do not need you

Well said. Right now agencies are doing nothing to attract the best nannies, so they have to settle for mediocre nannies and parents are not impressed. Agencies can kiss their outrageous fees good-bye until they start doing some real work.

?? Truly?? So now to be one of the "best nannies" one needs to merely declare it? I should hope someone claiming to be one of the best in a field that includes teaching children and helping with homework to at least have a grasp of grammar, spelling and math...

Believe it or not, you can be a great caring nanny and not be the best in grammar or spelling and better yet nannies that are not grammar snobs

Ok, looks like some are trying to go into a different direction, if you want to comment on the use of grammar and such would you start your own thread on that? Sometimes even nannies can be so mean to each other, nannies, NCS, nanny tutors and even babysitters fit into the childcare category. It is awesome that many nannies have expanded and have become a specialist nanny but there are awesome babysitters that have expanded with experience and have every right to call themselves a nanny.

The point of this thread is for nannies to give their opinion on agencies, some have great experiences but many have been abused and put down upon by agencies. If it is OK with the grammar patrol can you give these nannies a place to feel safe to express themselves and keep your grading to yourself please.

Nannies what are some of your negative experiences with agencies?

A nanny told me an agency asked her how she was disciplined as a child. Inappropriate to say the least. This was the agency where the owner is a Wharton graduate.
