Sorry, PP, I still don't believe you with more details.
Btw, what do these parents do?

I could care less if you believe me. What they do is not important.

No McLean family of six, eats on $10/day, IMO.
Coupons or not.

Did you read her compensation package? She basically has no basic expenses besides food. She may be grossing quite a bit more than those of you with housing, transportation, and health care expenses.

In case you didn't know, high school kids live with their parents and have basically no expenses either and work at McDonalds for 30 hrs/week and aren't rolling in dough. Even with the other compensation $10/hr is just pitiful. If you are living with a family with kids you can't compare the no rent to a $1200 NoVa apartment. You need to compare it to splitting something with 2-3 other people, so IMO live-in rent perk is only worth about $400/month. Plus there are just so many other negatives that should reduce some value but I can't even put a price on, i.e. not living with your employer, being able to have friends come over, staying out late, not being confined to your room all the time, etc.

Again just my opinion, but if you can charge $20/hr for normal work, then to do live-in you should only drop down to at most $17/hr or somewhere around there. The perk of living with the family and using their car occasionally is not worth $10/hr for 60 hours a week, and if you consider the non-monetary aspects and negatives it becomes even worse of an idea.

My rate is the same it doesn't matter if you have 1 or 4 children. I get a bedroom and bathroom preferably on a separate level then the rest of the family and adequate use of a vehicle. Car insurance and health insurance 125 per month paid for as well. My hrs are guaranteed each week and I am willing to bank hrs if that works best for everyone. I am always available for weekend work or date nights with extra pay of course.

You don't say anything what city or your qualifications/experience. High school kids get $10/hr. Are you that young?

I currently work in nova I am in my 30's and I have been a nanny for over 10 years. I have an associates degree. I am a career live in nanny.

Where in nova?

I live in McLean. I don't pay for food either. I do the family grocery shopping and eat dinner with them every night. I pick up what I want for lunches and snacks. I'm a couponer so for a family of 6 including me I spend about 65 per week on the families and my groceries. That includes toiletries. My only expense is my cell phone but I do online surveys and make around 300 per month so I back my whole paycheck and always have.

The family I work for does get a bargain as they save a lot on child care they have 3 under 6. And groceries at 65 a week is rather inexpensive.

They have 3 kids under 6 and pay you $10 an hour to do the grocery shopping 3 times a week and cut coupons for hours on end? When do you spend time with the kids?

And then you make $300 a month from taking online surveys? At 10 cents per 15 minute survey.

No one in McLean does that.

Heck, maybe they should have three more, so this can earn $11/hr? Maybe.

I do all of the couponing, shopping and survey taking on my own time after I get off work usually on the weekends. The family I work for doesn't ask me to do this, it is my hobby. They just get to partake in what I get for free and have a lower grocery bill. I might be the only person in McLean who does this, but I do and I enjoy it. I am not from around here so maybe that's why know one on here believes someone from McLean would do this. I'm originally from the Midwest.

Why don't you think your skills and services are worth anymore than $10/hr?

Do you have any friends or do anything unrelated to your job? Sounds depressing

lol what an absurd story. You do their shopping and Xtreme couponing for free and on your own time and then you spend any remaining time taking idiotic online surveys for pennies just to make enough money to make up for the minuscule salary they give you.... and you see nothing wrong.

I agree. Her story is so farfetched, she has got to be a troll. No question about it.

If she's real, I kind of feel bad for her. Sounds like she spends most of her time working or in her room. Just sounds very lonely
