Dear OP. It sounds like you did what you felt the right thing to do was and that's more than most people would do.

No one is asking for your lessons here.

How good it is, that you think you know it all.
Congratulations!

If you say you care about children, you put your money where your mouth is.

That means having what it takes to step out of your comfort zone, when you see a child being neglected or abused.

When you get that in your head, you don't even think twice if you feel like doing it. All you need to determine is how to do it wisely. Doesn't much matter if it's an au pair, nanny or parent, who is neglecting or abusing a child.

Sure, you can take your pictures first, and you step up and do the right thing.

Yes, Mother Superior.

You are doing the right thing OP, people on these boards are just hypercritical. If she went up and told her she was being inappropriate and to stop, guess what? She wouldn't have stopped and the little girl would have been in a much worse situation later. Guaranteed. SOunds like the smarty pants who like to pat themselves on the back for "standing up" are not considering the repercussions for the little girl when she goes home. Glad you are getting the word out OP, and ignore the jackasses who just love to take something good and tell you how it should have been sooo much better. How very helpful of them

If the mom saw OP's report here, she would say thanks, I'd imagine. So far, so good, huh?

OP are you sure you have no axe to grind?

These posts are very similar and they supposedly happened on the same day and both posts refer to a 'foreign blond' childcare giver. Both areas are fairly close in (or near) the pentagon city area.

I may be jumping to conclusions but I just thought the similarities were strange.

Also, you mention nothing about the woman's accent. Did she speak English and did the kids speak English? If she had an accent then she obviously isn't the mother if the kids speak English. Also, were you 'inspecting' her so much that you noticed she had no wedding ring?

YOu just seem to have so much to say regarding her outfit and little details that I kind've think you're trying to make a enemy look bad by making up stories. It could backfire you know.

I think she said in her first post or maybe it was in a reply that she was posting it on the other message board as well.

And PPs encouraged her to post it on a 3rd board as well - best to take a number of shots to try to find the mom.
