Honestly, it is the same thing. Possibly even worse by asking "if" you would be paid as that implies that won't be paid at all. I would've been more offended by an "if". |
| 21:46, a week later and she still hasn't been paid, so it would seem that asking "if" was on point. |
Please see my previous post at 19:43 that was quoted above. Your response is based on hindsight, mine are based on compassion, empathy and current reality. |
Seriously, get over yourself. I was not being rude. I had plenty of compassion, I did come in...didn't I. In the past when I've worked weekends I get paid the following Monday. Why do you people get so high and mighty? |
| Has she failed to pay you in the past? This is very strange. |
OP I am convinced most of the people-dare I say women-here have fun playing devil's advocate. Since this is an anonymous forum, people are free to be a lot bitchier than they are in real life, and in the nanny world we all know there is a lot of pent up anger and frustration. Let it go. You did the right thing. Your MB took advantage of/is taking advantage of the situation to try to flake out on paying you a lot of extra money. Seriously though, start looking for a new job, she sounds like a self absorbed nightmare. |

Hi, nanny! I'm an MB here.
Yes, you should get paid. She should pay you generously... a 3am call? Wow!! I like the idea someone threw out about an email with some very kind words, a summary of hours, and a "no rush, the next week or two is okay" closure would sound very gracious on your part. And if she continues to not pay, another reminder, and then... I guess you find another job with someone who's kinder and has their act together. |
|
04:31, kind words,? She should send her an email, plus hand het a printout of the email, e.g.
Amount due for: 16 hours at OT hours, on date Hours worked on Sunday and give.date Total amount Thank you for taking care of this immediately. No need for OP to beg or offer condolences. It is time for her MB trying to shaft her. I agree with you that OP needs to findnew job. |
+1 |
Assuming OP wants to keep her job, this is very poor advice. |
| 13:49, who would want to work for a deadbeat MB who cbeats, lies, and steals. |
OP said that, up to this point, she didn't have a single issue with her. |
|
OP, I think you're full of it and tried to start a post to stir the pot. Because you're conveniently adding in more details as your posts continue.
Was it rude to ask if you'd be paid two days after your MB's loved one passed away? Yes. Very. Should you have been paid? Yes. But the fact that you waited for 7 pages before mentioning that any other time you've worked a weekend, she's paid you that Monday....yeah, I call troll. Congrats. You made people argue over something stupid, you've made many call your "MB" all sorts of names. You get a cookie. |
