Why do some women ruin their looks with tattoos?

Anonymous
I hate how tatoos look on skin, but humans have been uglyfying themselves since they existed on this earth: the Imperial Japanese court used to dye their teeth black in medieval times, multiple tribes around the world pierced and distented various cartilages, women elongated their necks with metal rings... all for various medical, religious or safety reasons originally, which turned into "rituals and traditions".
Tatoos are part of that.

To each their own.

I think tattoos on women have become more popular. In my old day girls got tramp stamps or ankle tattooed but leg tattoos seem really popular with women younger than me. I don’t mind a few tattoos on guys, and I have always wanted an ankle tattoo but realize it would get wrinkly if I got it now. To each her own! My husband is completely anti which I didn’t even know until this summer (15 years of marriage).

I could be wrong but I'm going to go out on a limb and say she is not concerned with people who think she ruined her looks with tattoos. Dunno, just a hunch.

Ugh, right? So masculine and gross.

I think she’s very concerned; she absolutely must be noticed.

+1 and leg tattoos are the tackiest.

I agree. I’m a guy and have no tattoos but it definitely seems like women are often attracted to a man’s tattoos (I don’t really get it tbh). But a large percentage of men find tattoos on women to be a huge turn off.

A bicep or shoulder tattoo on a man can be sexy, but I married a guy who doesn't have/won't get tattoos. Tattoos mar a person's appearance and are completely unattractive on women.

By whom? People who think she ruined her looks with tattoos? Or people who think tattoos are hot?

Not everybody makes decisions about personal style based on what the average Chad thinks is attractive.

That is huge and ugly. I know quite a few women who got these tattoos 10-15 years ago when they were first getting popular and now that we’re mid thirties it looks not very nice and shapeless, like a huge patch of gangrene. It just screams ex-stripper past her glory days.

She's young and has a beautiful body. The tattoos don't make or break her.

Someday she will look like this, though:

Eh. My friend’s 20 year old daughter is covered in tattoos and has a very lucrative OnlyFans. Different people are attracted to different things.

Sure but it’s not masculine.
