Why do some women ruin their looks with tattoos?

Tattoos reveal a lack of self-esteem. Why do some engage in self-mutilation ?

You win for the dumbest post of the day. Women with tattoos don't lack self esteem. I have a tattoo and I got it because it's really pretty. End. Full stop. No other motivation.

I think arm tattoos on women are soooo bad. Have they not seen their grandmother's arms? Nothing is safe from gravity. Same for men's arm tattoos too.

The best place to get a tattoo is on your lower back. Less sun exposure and somewhat less stretching and sagging of skin. Not totally immune, but less.

But my god. Seriously? Mine are to commemorate my husband, my child, and the baby girl I lost that I had already named Wendy. They remind me of the love I am surrounded by. I like them. I do not feel any obligation to change that because of anyone else’s feelings about them.
