If you aren’t in a very small handful of favorites, you are in constant fear of being replaced - and this is on the top team. He is already courting girls from other teams (ECNL rules be damned) to replace several of his 1s, those 2s don’t stand a chance. Allowing little girls to be conditioned for abuse by older male authority figures has much more impact in their lives than just soccer. Agree with pp that it’s shocking post- #metoo era.

The club is well aware of it. I’m not privy to any internal discussions, but aside from him getting booted from one team his first year, it’s not like he is having trouble filling his teams and he’s getting results. So, I guess it’s put your head in the sand as a business decision rather than take the moral high road? Would be interesting to be a fly on the wall if/when JC and the Board talk about this type of stuff.

It’s a potential lawsuit waiting to happen if they are not careful especially if the board/management is well aware of the issue.

Sounds like he'll fit well with the brothers verbally abusing their players in DC

LOL. Wishful thinking.

Rock and a hard place. You don't want your daughter to be punished so you don't elevate. Your kid is miserable but doesn't want you to get her targeted by the coach.

What's this? Is Achilles starting a girls program with SC? (assuming that's the reference based on all the prior posts re: Achilles and "abuse")

She has basically nothing to do with the ECNL teams. Those years are SC and KL, and sort of a separate thing. It’s not like they’re answering to her on their teams.

Haven't been on this board in a couple years, but I see KL is still on here playing defense smh

BSC board is a joke. They all know KL is someone without character and they do nothing. They play ignorant to how he treats the players who he considers not up to par. If you are a player who is gifted, you will be treated just fine. It’s amazing BSC doesn’t understand true leadership. What being a true leader really means. Definitely not someone who tells a kid she sucks and throws temper tantrums and tosses water bottles. Definitely All the parents are guilty for not standing up to him. So many parents have pulled their kids out of this environment yet BSC board thinks everything is okay. They should be ashamed of themselves. No leadership and no honor. Not understanding what the word TEAM means.

If you want to be verbally and mentally abused, feel free to stay at BSC. KL is the absolute worst. You dont have to be that type of person to get results. You dont have to create that type of abusive culture and think its ok because you have a decent amount of D1 commits.
There are tons of other programs (NVA, Maryland United, Union, Arlington...) who can get your daughter where she needs to be if she has the talent. KL has a God complex and he is hurting way more girls than he is helping.
My kid ended up in a great situation far away from BSC. I honestly feel bad for some of those girls. They feel trapped like they have nowhere to go. It's a viscious cycle. PLease, please, please stay away from KL!!!

Bethesda's issues begin at the highest level. The Executive Director of the Club has been gradually consolidating power, undermining the Board of Directors and quietly taking full control of the organization. This was once a wonderful place, but if not addressed, "JC" could ultimately ruin the Club.

Anytime you have two siblings (twins nonetheless) in managerial positions, things are bound to go awry. The communications at the club (on the boys side at least), are awful. The lack of organization around practice times is atrocious. Overall, there is an arrogance that seems to exceed all surrounding clubs.

Arrogance is the word. They know they don;t need to change cause the interest is there, they have enough success with enough teams, and there is the sad reality of a monopoloy in MoCo for the elite soccer market. Huge population and one mega club that has the dream combo for all the sheep to follow with MLSN for boys and ECNL for girls. Shut up and stay, and you will probably get better, but at what cost? Only 2-3 kids on each team are truly maxmizing their potential ultimatley. That's an expensive what if for most families, even in MoCo.

MD United where are you to make this an actual competition in Maryland?
