You have me curious. Illeana? Mariane? Lanie? I went on imdb and picked all the not-so-common names (her characters have had) from the past 9 years. haha way too much free time on my hands I suppose.

So what about Aidan? Is the popularity of Aidan due to the dreamy, Mr. Perfect, SATC character? I have to admit that I fell in love with that name when that show was on. But I didn't use it because every other boy these days is named Aidan.

I think Aidan is a great name that was staring to become popular when Aidan came onto SATC, and then became even popular. I don't think people deliberately named their Aidans after SATC, but that probably reminded them of the name. Aidan is a lovely but man, is it everywhere.

PP here. I meant starting to become popular and then became even more popular, and that Aidan is a lovely name. I might have had some wine at a 4th of July bbq that impaired my typing.

Aidan is a great name, but I know two co-workers who just had boys in the last year, both named Aidan. So it is becoming more common. I hadn't made that connection by I'm sure SATC had something to do with it.

Anyone remember that episode where Charlotte had her super secret baby name stolen at that baby shower?

I think the baby name was "Shayla." Such a funny episode.

Whenever I hear the name Elise, which is rare, I think of that movie, Somewhere in Time, with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve.

(Would just like to say that 22:43 is not 17:35).

Took me (17:35) a while, but I found it (I think).

To the PP that talked about SATC with Charlotte's secret baby name: As silly as it may be, I do the same thing. I'll say some names I like, but I don't like to tell people my favorite boy and girl name. :-X I just don't want anyone to take them! (Though the boy name has been popular recently...I think it was even mentioned somewhere in this post. Haha)

Also, the Seinfeld episode in which George's secret baby name was "Seven." It was stolen when he shared it, and he was furious! Hilarious.

You could all have original names if you named your kids things like Treebark and Hobbledehoy.

Just name your kids William and Jane and start looking to the next 18 years of their lives to make a dent into their lifetime footing.
