Poetic justice at its best! |

No one is erasing it from history. We're just doing our usual updates to our currency to make it a more broader representation of our country's history. |
Who the hell is saying 9/11 is our fault? Only the extremist "truthers" have lent air to that nonsense, which a majority of Americans have written off as the crazy bullshit it is. |
I was hoping for Tupac or the notorious B.I.G. |
I was hoping for Aunt Jemima. She's been around since 1889 - http://www.auntjemima.com/aj_history Everyone knows her. |
Janet Jackson. She and Andrew Jackson even look similar, so maybe we could have saved a little dough on the engraving and printing costs. Logo would have to be changed to "Miss Jackson if you're nasty" though. |
If political correctness AT ITS WORST is replacing Andrew Jackson with Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, then political correctness is pretty puny. But you're welcome to send me any Harriet Tubman $20 bills you want to get rid of. |
I think white women don't matter...we're treated as worse tokens than blacks are. And, we're more than 50% of the populations...blacks about 13%
|
Why not a Native American? |
Well, you were the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action. I think it's interesting that you put black women with blacks instead of women. Do you not consider Harriet Tubman a woman? If you stop focusing on the white, you might be pleased by this move. |
Would have been a great choice. HT was a great choice also, but I wouldn't have had a problem with a Native American. |
not this again |
She wasn't chosen because she was a "woman"...she was chosen to be able to check two boxes -- "black" and "woman". And how in the world do you think white women benefited from affirmative action? That is nonsense. We've been left out forever...and are behind blacks.

Affirmative action for women is a thing. Also a thing: women who are black. When you say "women", that includes "blacks". When you say "blacks", that includes women. |
