I know a few almost celebrities. The kind that end up on Colbert or the Daily Show when they have written an interesting book and the shows don't have anyone flashy booked. It is fun to see someone you know on a national tv show. Or ones that had the 15 minute type of fame. |
Kate Hudson, Goldie hawn, Kurt Russell, Kevin Costner, John Denver. Lived in Aspen. |
Pharmacist James Pickens from Watseka, Illinois. Cousin of Roger Ebert. |
I used to be really close to the Williams sisters (Venus more than Serena) when we were in our early 20s. We haven't been in touch as often over the past 7-8 years. Contact maybe 2x per year when they are in the area.
Great women as are all of their living older sisters. |
Yep, they all say this. |
I met Robin Williams when he was filming "Man of the Year" in 2006. I was working at Comfort One and he came in to buy shoes.
I am related to Buddy Hackett I went to college with (and met several times) Ralph Sampson In 1982 I got to hear Ray Bradbury Speak at the Library of Congress. Afterwards I got to speak with him for about 30 minutes. On Hallween 1983, I drunkenly called Stephen King from a friend's dorm room. I have no idea what we talked about, but I had to pay for a 33 minute long distance call to Maine. I went to elementary school with Conan O'Brien. His kid sister Kate was in my class, he was a few years ahead of us. |
My Mom met Bill Cosby in a coffee shop in the 1950's in Greenwhich Village. He asked her on a date to see one of his shows, before he bercame famous. One of my grandmother's relatives owned a temenement in the lower east side. She rented an apartment to Mary Travers (Peter Paul and Mary.) My Mom met the whole trio a few times when she went to help her collect the rent. We rented out the ground floor of my parent's first house (I was a teenager then) to Max Hobart, the lead violinist for the Boston Pops. His girlfriend Gail was an opera singer. They are now married and he is a conductor now. I remember waking in the morning to beautiful violin music while he (and sometimes the other) violinists rehearsed. |
I've worked on several projects closely with many celebrity chefs. Sadly, the egos of most are freakin' enormous. Some surprised me by being more down to earth and kind than expected - Emeril, Jean-Georges, Jose Andres... |
I wish I could report something similar! A friend met Cosby at a conference and he was gratuitously rude and mean to staff. ![]() |
I went to college with Regan Burns, the dad in "Dog with a Blog" on Disney. I knew him as Robert/Rob Burns and we had an English class together.
I know, I know...you think you don't know him, but most people recognize him from his commercials (Capital One) and I Love the 80s on VH-1. |
I went to High School with Rosa Blasi who was on Strong Medicine back in the early 2000s (not sure what she's doing now) and she was a talented dancer and singer back then. Jennifer Morrison, formerly of House, also went to my high school and was in my brother's class several years behind me. She was the daughter of our school's marching band director, and he had Jennifer and her sister (they were probably about 7 and 9 at the time) wear Pom Pom girl uniforms and lead the parade. |
My 8 year old self too!!!! |
Worked with David Gregory. Usually an asshole, very high strung, but generally friendly when drunk. |
It doesn't sound like you actually knew any of them. |
So your roommate dished that he was totally amazing in the sack, right? Because that's what I choose to believe. |
