One more thing. "Crazy" things start in California and wash over the rest of the country. I think these incidents will happen in other parts of the country in a few years.

Oh please. Every mother of a special needs child is not a criminal because their child will be dependent on others for the rest of their lives.
Maybe California should get their long promised major earth quake. That should ruffle up the state budget feathers.

Wouldn't it be great to live in a society that isn't so harsh and judgemental? Perhaps the next one. How old do you have to be to respect all human life enough to not judge another? I hope that someday our society grows up! Accepting others decisions, even if we don't understand them, shows a maturity that we all should strive for!

Did it even crosses in somebody mind that she might be a patient that was mistakenly release after that riot. Because it don't make sense to have 8 more children after having 6 given the fact that she is on welfare unless she is manipulating the system. And now...she want to finish her master degree on counseling given the fact that she's the one that needed some counseling. What a joke! By the way, I'm retiring and all of you guys can pay for my retirement and also for her manipulation of the system.

She was a mental health worker.

I know that if I had a severe back injury, I'd run out and get pregnant 7 times. Great way to heal the back.

Yikes.

But..the kids are here and this lady needs to be helped because they need to have a mom who is not so stressed by all the anger out there that she does something stupid. As for calling the kids retarded--what is the point in that. Many people have kids who have some sort of disability who live wonderful lives and no one even knows if these kids have disabilities at this point.

well she has one autistic kid, one with ADHD and another one with autistic tendencies... what do you think the odds are of one or more of the octuplets having autism as well? Pretty high is you ask me. Specifically for the 6 boys.

I hope that you are up on your behavioral genetics knowledge to be assuming so much! Are you familiar with which genetic markers or alleles show the predisposition for autism? I can't remember off the top of my head and I loaned my book out but I don't think that this has been identified yet! Let's not be so harsh!

Looks like she had time to get her nails done the other day, on taxpayers dime.

Wow, this is going from bad to worse. Who is taking care of her older kids, and why isn't she in the hospital holding one of her 8 new kids, who need constand holding as premees. Again, this goes to her complete lack of judgment and character. Why on earth would people give her money.

And yes, I am being judgmental. And no, she doesn't deserve a little "me" time with 8 premees in the hospital.

I make effort not to judge other people's decisions, but in contrast, if we didn't pass judgement on others' behaviors at all, all criminals would run free; because no one would judge their actions as wrong. Innocent people suffer the consequences (in this case, 14 children and millions of taxpayers).

It would also be nice to live in a society where people didn't abuse the system...be it a welfare mom or a wall street banker.

I don't think octomom can be compared to Angelina & Brad, because they have jobs and means to care for their dependents. They adopted/had kids knowing they could do so. Octomom had kids knowing that she could not.

Yes people make mistakes. But when someone doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes and expects the whole state of California to pay for their mistake, or repeated mistakes, it's hard not to formulate an opinion about it.

She could have been buying the video games for her older kids, so doesn't really bother me. Getting nails done, now that is a different story. I mean, getting hair cut, hair dyed, clothes shopping, wouldn't bother me as much as getting nails done. IMO, that is a pure indulgence and luxury. WOW. I havent' gotten my nails done in 5 years.

If they want money for the kids, they better announce a trust has been set up for their well being, controlled by a third party not connected to the mother. Otherwise, I can't imagine that people are going to give her any money -- money she may well spent on more luxuries or plastic surgery.

i thik the state should not help her she should be made to raise them on her own. She will get public assistance and tax payers will raise them. It's bad enough that 3 are disabled and she gets 3,000 a month for them at tax payers money.

So?
Someone in California got $500,000 of tax payers money to decorate an office.
Despite the state workers are taking pay cut
