Exercise.
Exercise.Exercise.Exercise. You can't cut out carbs forever, and when you re-introduce them, you may see your "results" fade fast. Exercise is really the best way to have your cake and eat it too. |

Yep, you can't cut out carbs forever, as the PP said.
Rebalance your plate: more of the fruits and vegetables--build your meals around those--and less of carbs and protein. You don't need nearly as much protein as you're probably getting (unless you're a triathlete or Rafael Nadal). And make most of your carbs complex and whole: whole wheat toast instead of bagels, brown rice (or brown/white mixed if you insist), cous cous/quinoa/all of the "new" fun grains you can explore. Have mostly healthy snacks, and definitely make room for fun splurges, whether they're white bread bagels or brownies or whatever floats your boat. Combined with exercise, a long-term, livable plan like this will help you keep off extra pounds. Good luck! |

1) You can't cut carbs forever, but you can get rid of excess sugar--I did, slowly: no sugar in my coffee (breaking a 20 year habit), no cookies/candy/random sweets, very few desserts in general (make homemade fruit ice cream with kids with agave syrup, and have a bit, or dark chocolate), no white bread products.
2) Do you lift weights? that's another way to reshape your body. 3) get moving. running, walking, classes, whatever. Move more. |
Unfortunately, its a bit more than just 1 trick or a quick progress scheme to stay motivated. What works for others will not work for some. You need to list what you eat and drink for every meal. You also need to list what you do for exercise. This will give us a better idea of how to address it. Also, its a matter of assessing progress. Some techniques may not work which means you will have to adjust other areas. |
