Post here if you didn't get in anywhere!

Wow we didn't get in to any of our 12. We really wanted Bridges (our child has special needs) and I was for some reason feeling good that we would get in there. I suppose still possible since they did go through their whole wait list for PK3 last year (right?) but I guess there's no way to know if that will happen again this year.

Our wait list #s are:
Bridges 142
EL Haynes 181
Appletree Columbia Heights 97
Tubman 109
Two Rivers 384
Inspired Teaching 244
School Within School 315
HD Cooke 36
Meridian PCS 19
Garrison 27
Bancroft 4 (in boundary preference)
Marie Reed 66

Sorry, PP! I hope you get into Bridges.

I think our # was immediately before yours -- I am ranked 1 above you for many. Except Marie Reed and Bancroft -- did you have preference at both of those?

PP may be wondering because there are two programs at Marie Reed, and she may be thinking about dual language whereas I think you are talking about the English program.

Hey! You're one of the few people who identifies themselves on here. Curious how you did and what your top choice was?

I usually am logged in but sometimes it logs me out so sometimes I do post anonymously. I am PP above who had a similar waitlist number to you all--in-boundary for HD Cooke, got in there. We tried for a bunch of popular charters where we have no shot, but we are hopeful for one of the Marie Reed programs or Bridges, only because we know both schools went through nearlybtheir whole waitlists last year. We actually did like Cooke a lot wen we visited, so we would be fine going there, but we were more excited by the other schools. I am really glad that, at the behest of some friends, we checked out Cooke, or I would be having a rough night now. Hope you did well!

Ah yes, that it explains it. I'm the pp ranked one above you on most others and we did apply for Marie reed dual language - that explains it.

Is bridges good in K or grade 1?

Very disappointed. We will apply for Francis Stevens in round 2. Besides that we can't afford to go private, since it us PK3 our choices are going to be very limited.

1 Inspired Teaching Demonstration PCS Waitlist #238 No preference
2 School-Within-School Waitlist #310 No preference
3 Mundo Verde Bilingual PCS Waitlist #396 No preference
4 Ross Elementary School Waitlist #268 No preference
5 Garrison Elementary School Waitlist #25 No preference

We got in absolutely nowhere for kindergarten. Compared to previous years our numbers look good, because we're under 100 for most of them, but the numbers of applicants and places are much lower for kindergarten. I can expect very little movement.

Really depressed because we have no other option.
