Post here if you didn't get in anywhere!

One of those PK3 in no wheres. I thought we had a reasonable list of "reach" schools, charters, and DCPS up and comings. Our best waitlist is in the 20s at Lee. I'd be delighted to get in there.

You will definitely get into Lee.

you mean for private school? depends on your priorities for retirement and college savings, but I think you have to ravage your savings to qualify.

Untrue. Income is far more important to the calculation than savings.

Really depressed because we have no other option.

will you consider moving to burbs?

No. Not an option. Like I said we have no other option.

You have pther options, they just might not be a choice that you are willing to make. You could send you child to the IB school. Move. Homeschool. Private. Don't feel defeated.

Didn't get in anywhere. We are in the 200s in our top choices. What are our chances of getting in into one of these?

Ludlow-Taylor - 61
Cleveland - 46
Tyler ES - 73
Lee Montessori - 60
AppleTree LP – 62
AppleTree Amidon - 30

In the past Appletree campuses have gone much further through their waitlist than that. However, with this new system it's impossible to tell.

Move, homeschool, private are NOT options. Not everyone on this board is wealthy. Our only real "option" is the IB school which is not really an "option" simply the default.

Same here. Our lowest #s are 130s. We have two marginally better #s for schools we aren't really interested in due to commute and quality.

Every new school in recent years (even IT, MV, and CM) went well past 20s in their first year. Especially with temporary location. Many chose Lee as a back up and will likely get in elsewhere. We were in 20s the 1st year of IT and got in around May.

Sorry you had bad luck with the lottery. You'll have to enroll in your IB kindergarten class, right?

Yes, that's true. And I guess it's where we'll end up. I'm not thrilled about the school, particularly the unenthusiastic teachers, but also Tools of the Mind. My kid does pretty well at "self regulation" and is already way ahead of what they will be teaching academically. I don't know a single family in the neighborhood sending their kid their for K.

Not pP but this is me too and IB is terrible, moving is expensive, I'm single so can't homeschool, can't afford private....

Yes, but what were your waitlist numbers? Mine stink to high heaven.
