Veronica... the non-French version of Veronique. |
Nonsense on the 'i've never known a Virginia who liked her name'. I've known at least 4 and all liked it. And, gasp, two liked the nickname Ginny while the other 2 preferred because called by their full name. It's a beautiful name |
No, it's not nonsense, it's the truth. How do you know what my friends like? |
Here are a bunch I found on line I like Vallyn, Vella, Vaden, Vanyn, and Vallie the best.
Vallyn, Vianna, Vanyn, Vianne. It was more your tone - that you acted like you were the authority on the name. Just had to give a balanced point of view. |
Venetia, Veruska, Vienna, Valencia, Venice, Vande, Verena, Vivika, Vega, Vidalia |
Valeraine, Valeria, Valere, Valimai, Valkyrie, Vallari, Vainiya, Vanni, Vashni, Vijay |
OP here...I like Vella! Thank you! |
Maybe it's just my background but I hear Vella and I think wind surfing but it could be cute on the right person. I like Valencia the best, could go by Vale (va-ya).
NO on Veronica, you wouldn't want your child being called Ronny! |
I know someone named Vilija (Lithuanian) - pronounced Vil-ee-ya. |
No one has said Victoria, which I find a very nice name. I second Valentina, I think it is a beautiful name, too. I am sure that when you see your baby, you will find the perfect name for her. Congratulations! ![]() |
Vivian
Veranda Violet |
Veranda sounds lovely--like Miranda--but it means "porch"! |
My mother can't pronounce Vs so even though I like Vivica, I couldn't use it. My girl would have ended up being "Bibica."
No one suggested Veruca yet, but I guess everyone will think of the spoiled brat from Willy Wonka. I know a woman at work named Violeta, pronounced Ve-o-leta. I think that's pretty, too. |
If your mom can't pronounce V, then Vella is perfect, no? |
