I have not read each post here - so my apologies if it was already proposed: Vida = means life

A girl I grew up had this name. I always thought how original but pretty.

I have a friend from Russia named Venera - means "venus" in russian i think

I have always loved the name Veruca (remember, from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?). Yes, she was bratty, but I still love the name. Husband vetoed it, unfortunately.

My Cabbage Patch Kid's name was Vanya.

If you recall, that girl's full name was Veruca Salt. Hence, a band later called themselves that.

Why? I love girls' names with boy nicknames! If I needed a V name I would think about Veronica only because it would go to Ronnie - too cute!
