Valentina is not good. Sounds contrived. And I've never know a Virginia who is happy with that name. Every Vanessa I've know has had a spoiled personality, so it's got a negative association for me. |

Be careful with Virginia (could be shorted to Ginny). I went to school with a girl named Virginia and on the attendance sheet/school listings/etc. the "a" always seemed to get cut off so she got the misnomer of "Virgin" and was made fun of. |

| OP Here, thanks for all the replies. Not sure we have a winner yet, so please keep the suggestions coming. I'm flummoxed. Ethnic, Biblical, Talmudic, Koranic, or frankly made up names would be OK at this point. |
