I want my cats dead I plan their deaths daily. but I keep that thought to myself usually. I have two of them and I am sick to death of this attitude that I need to be loving to an animal that is making my life miserable. When I was growing up if my Granddad had too many cats born in his barn he would take the entire litter and tie them up in a bag and drown them. I know many on this site would judge him harshly for that but it is an animal and on a farm an animal serves a purpose or it is a nuisance that needs to be eliminated. I am sick to death of animal rights people judging others for the way they deal with a nuisance and a problem in their lives. It is an animal and while I am against being cruel to any living creature, sitting in judgement over someone that chooses to put down an animal that is causing them distress is cruel and torturous in itself. We have dominion over the animals and you people being all righteous over someone who only desires peace is just plain stupid. Randall |
Randall, It appears you might not be the best candidate for a pet. Why did you acquire 2 cats, exactly? |
So, you revived a dead thread to let us all know what a hateful person you are to animals on a pet forum for some mysterious purpose. Baffling plan, Sherlock. If you think coming to the pet forum and advocating for people who want to kill their pets is a good idea, you are the one that is just plain stupid. |
My cat has a chronic cling-on. It simply cannot or will not, pinch it off. Everywhere this cat goes it leaves a skid-mark; the sofa, our comforter, every friggin where. When it starts to throw up, it stops and seeks the highest traffic area where it flashes all over the place. Can't get rid of the damn thing because the kids "love kitty". It would take them days to finally figure out kitty is gone. Can't wait. Gotta go....planning my evil scheme. |
I rarely check out Pets but I found this thread pretty entertaining.
And the idiots who equate pets with people......ugh. |
I feel the pain of many of the posters on here. I have 3 cats and a smelly house because of them. They pee where they want and like the OP, I spend hours a week cleaning up after them. The litter boxes are cleaned constantly yet we will all of a sudden smell urine and the hunt begins to find the most recent thing that was peed on. Then I scrub and scrub with every enzyme product known to man to get rid of the odor only to have one of them go on something else!! It's maddening! It drives you to hate them whether it started out that way or not! Is it worth spending the $$ to feed them and buy litter and on vet bills for your entire house to smell like a litter box?? Its literally to the point we can't have friends or family over because of the smell!!! Its embarrassing and disgusting! I am constantly on my hands and knees smelling the carpet, trying to find the smell! I grew up with 5 cats who used 1 litter box and they never peed outside the box. I have 3 litter boxes and 3 cats and deal with this mess daily! And yes we've gone to the vet.. There is no uti or other issues with any of them. The only reason we still have them is because we made the "commitment" when we got each one... But for the first time in my life I am considering getting rid of a pet. I also have children and this lifestyle is not good for them or my husband and I. So judge if you want but the reality is pets should not be above people no matter what. I literally think about getting rid of them on a daily basis and don't know how much longer I can just think about it without acting on it. |
10+ year old cat belongs to older DD. The cat is moving out as soon as DD graduates from college and gets the key to her own place.
I love the cat, but I don't want to deal with anything else's poop ever again. |
How often do you clean the box. Switching to a bigger box, using plain old clumping clay litter with an open box and cleaning twice a day helped to control the situation in our house. You already have one per cat, so that should not be a problem. I tried so many of the fancy boxes and fancy man made litter and they all suck. Also get the UV light which can help you spot the mess. |
Pets should be family. Yes they are work but they view you as family as well. The messes and fur are something that you should have thought of before you got them. I am sorry but I don't feel that you should get rid of them! |
Get a bunny - best pet ever! |
Bored and frustrated cats act weird. One of the reasons why cats don't use their litter boxes is due to stress. Make sure you reward them for good behavior. There is no use punishing cats. If you see a cat peeing, quickly lift it and take it to the litter box. Show some love. I know it's hard but I have worked with difficult cats and have seen them improve! I know it's hard after you have to deal with all the cleaning but try to make some time to play with them and cuddle them. I am pretty sure they will get back to normal lives after relieving stress. |
Had to get rid of a cat today. It got to the point where it hissed, growled when letting him outside.
It hissed & growled at me yesterday when I let him out and bit me and that wound up in me giving him a good smack on the head and letting him run around in the yard. It was after that, that I decided that it's not good for me or the cat with that going on. I called shelters and they all said they would put him down, so I did what I thought would be a humane thing and took him for a ride and dropped him off 2 miles away in a different neighborhood. I like cats and all but that one.. he just pissed me off real good yesterday with his hatefulness. |
There are tons of cat rescues in this area. You could have called one of those rather than letting your cat outside to die. |
I really hope you're a troll. |
I changed his food and spent a ton of money at the vet to check his blood etc and he's fine. But he keeps vomiting and he is obsessed with wet food.... I am only giving him a little bit along with dry food. Thx! |
