I’m masking on any public transit right now. There are only a few Of us. But I don’t want to get sick (with anything).

My kid missed a week of school but now is cleared by the doctor to go back to school - and on planes. She'll be masked but lots of people don't care if they are positive anymore. "It's just a cold".

Well if some internet rando advises this then of course I will 🙄

Definitely masking on the plane as we don't want COVID or any other virus to spoil our vacation or Christmas celebration. Kids were exposed to COVID before Thanksgiving, so it would be silly not to, even though they aren't high risk.

Unless you are in a rental away from other people, you are still vacationing around others and exposed to COVID, flu, stomach bugs throughout your vacation. It’s the promixity to others that creates the risk. I don’t mask on the plane and I don’t mask at museums, restaurants, on the train, at the hotel. It’s just a risk of traveling and I’m ok with that.

Ok? Not everyone wants to take risks with their health on vacation.

Then stay home. Taking a vacation involves risks. Extremely minimal to most people but yeah you’re risking getting sick.

I stand by my no answer. I don’t think OP was asking if I’ve ever seen a person in a mask on a plane, but rather what people are doing generally.

I’ve been flying 1-2 a month since spring. Very, very few people are masking.

I am not masking either, and I haven’t had covid in two years.

Probably depends on your destination. Where were you going?

LMAO. Where does it matter where PP is going? Does COVID only strike on flights bound for Hawaii? Does it skip flights to London? You people act like this virus is sentient. I know you're trying to argue for your 'masks forever' feelings, but the world has moved on and acting like COVID is a smart virus and stays away from Chicago-bound airplanes makes you look clueless.

I think you’re the clueless one here. The question is whether other people on the plane will be masked. If you’re flying to Asia I think the percentage of people who will be masked is higher. It has nothing to do with your rest of the stupid points you make in your post.

You will get sick. Watch.

And if I don’t? Then what? What happens when you get sick when you masked? How does that work? Explain plz.

Masks mitigate your risks. They do not eliminate it. A some people will mask and mask get sick. But fewer people than those that do not mask.

Also, not everyone is wearing a KN/KF masks. The surgical masks offer less protection.

Or, go and mitigate your risks. Vacation may involve risk. But you can mitigate with such common sense concepts and not visiting Russia, leaving your passport locked in the same, and masking. Something may still go wrong. But you have a smaller likelihood. See how that works?

PP said they didn’t want to take risks with their health on vacation. The only way to do this is to stay home. See how that works?

I prefer keeping my mask on for public transit and crowded places. I make that choice regardless of what others do.

Possibly, in theory. But do masks really make a difference? Possibly, if you wore them all the time around the clock. And wear the right ones. But even the most ardent masker doesn't these days. Wear mask on the plane but not when with family and friends (hint, where do you think you have always been far more likely to get COVID?).

People definitely mask to convince themselves they're protecting themselves when in reality they're not.
