I think this happens often, bigger clubs hold tryouts or ID sessions, but what I saw was the tops teams were already set. Within 15 minutes of open try-outs, the teams were divided up into 3 tier groups with the top players (who already were wearing futsal team uniforms) going off to practice away from everyone else. Coaches did not seem to have time or interest in bringing new or outside talent to their top teams. --But then, I suppose that is like life. Changing jobs? Often you have to start at he bottom and work you way up.

They need to keep their customer base. People get angry if outside players come in and take spots while they have been "loyal" to the Club and their kid has always been on the top team. Certain clubs the rosters barely change for that reason as well.

I would say almost every kid U9-U12 who tried out or went to an ID session made it onto a team. Also, from our Club team, 20 kids play outdoor soccer and 14 decided to sign up to play Futsal. So 70% wanted to play and 100% were put on a team....but only after they paid their futsal fees.

You must be talking about Alexandria because that wasn’t the case with Arlington. Most age groups have 8/9 kids max

The level of play in the oldest group tonight — the 2012 boys — was impressive. And all the kids looked like they were having fun as they were competing — you could tell those kids love the game!

No way to do stats, but I know several u12 girls that tried out that did not make it.
