Arlington Elite Futsal Academy

2012 boys parent here. Great turnout at Arlington Elite Futsal tryouts tonight. Ton of coaches & pretty well organized considering number of kids. Like the coaching lineup I see on the website and on the field (tryouts on turf, not court). Seems like knowledgeable & experienced futsal coaches across the board. Coaches were passionate, vocal & kept things running smoothly. Seems like a good start to this academy. Parent impressions were good. Hope my boy makes it!

Folks who did it last year liked it. It's steep price-wise tho.

We also were at the Arlington fustal tryouts tonight. It was well organized and it looked like a good turnout.

The level of play in the oldest group tonight — the 2012 boys — was impressive. And all the kids looked like they were having fun as they were competing — you could tell those kids love the game!

How do you do a futsal tryout on turf?
Completely different game.
Hard pass. Check Alexandria or SYC/in10sity

Watch for the bait and switch with coaches. They do it all the time for their super y so I would expect they will do the same with this.

Does anyone know where the teams will practice? Indoor gym/wood courts?

And herein lies the answers to both of these programs (Arlington and Alexandria).
Would you join a tennis team trying out on a basketball court? Or a basketball team doing tryouts on a 9 foot rim - because it's "close enough"? These are money makers with no serious intentions of teaching futsal.

We're talking outdoor tryouts -- not practices or games. I assume that space constraints are the reason for the outdoor tryouts, when there are hundreds of kids trying out all at once. It's not a problem when used only for identifying and grouping players of different skill levels.

Well- those are just for show anyways. Both clubs just group players pretty much exactly like their outdoor teams--even though in other countries they don't even consider Futsal and Outdoor soccer the same sport--different skill sets and physicality.

True that both Alexandria and Arlington do their tryout on turf. It's ok though since practices and games will be indoor. Most of these kids that tryout are soccer players who are looking to get better through futsal. Even smaller % are looking to play futsal professional so there's that.

Let's not get so fire on on what surface the tryout will be on. More importantly, who will offer a better training quality?

Prices seems to be all about the same among clubs/ teams

Arlington got the national futsal Asst coach to run the program this year.

Waste of money. It wont help your DC advance to the top-rated team in any age bracket. Coaches are busy entertaining players from other soccer teams looking to jump.
