Arlington Elite Futsal Academy

For those arlington kids - some of them have been playing futsal for other clubs for years. It would make sense for them to get the spot on the top teams with or without the separate tryout.

But like other PP said - alexandria does the same things with their players. Just the norm these days.

Not talking about non Arlington players vs Arlington players. We are talking about Ecnl players from Arlington trying out separately from non Ecnl players from Arlington. Just because one player is a better soccer player doesn’t mean that they are a better futsal player. All the kids should have tried out together if they wanted to build the best team.

In most older age groups (u13 and above )they held a separate tryouts for the ECNL kids and gave the ecnl kids offers without having them compete against non ecnl players. I guarantee they missed out on someone who is a better futsal player than an ecnl kid but not a better soccer player. IF they were really interested in building a program they would have had everyone compete together and pick the best 10 futsal players.

Definitely disappointing that the ECNL kids tried out separately instead of giving all the players an equal chance to compete.

they don't owe you anything. If your DC was better than the players that they currently have, they would take you. If you're about the same, why would they add you to their top team?

Alexandria did the same thing. Separating their club players from outside players.

My child plays for the club, but isn't on ECNL. I am very aware that my child isn't owed a spot on a futsal team. But if you are going to have a "tryout", you owe some level of fairness to the kids who are trying out. I'm not surprised that this is how they decided to do things, but yes, I am disappointed in the club to which I pay thousands of dollars every year.

No- not for 2010 at least. They made some 2010s come and tryout with non ECNL kids.

Completely agreed. Could have handle the tryout better. Going to wait to see the roster to see who don’t belong. But with certain age group - probably make more sense how many ECNL players they have and why

Good to know. Many of the players have been playing futsal for years which probably contribute to how good of a soccer player they are in terms of technical skills but glad to know they didn’t offer the spots just because kids are ECNL players.

Has all the age groups sent out their invite? Didn’t get one yet and wondering if we just didn’t get a spot or they are still working on it. Would be awkward go ask someone.

Same- have not gotten offer or rejection yet. Kid is 2010.

Got email saying they will make decision by next Monday.

The email we got said they would send notifications on the following schedule:

2011-2005: Wednesday 11/1
2012-2015 Boys: Thursday 11/2
2012-2015 Girls: Monday 11/6

Pretty disappointing since they told the kids they would hear this week. And these dates for 2011-2005 are roughly two weeks after they gave offers to the ECNL players.

Not really. It was a bait-and-switch with the coaches.

Futsal thrives in Brazil & Argentina. And 1 of those 2 countries has been in the WC finals 11 of the last 17 times. It’s almost like futsal works. 🙄

LoL. I’m sure your child is the heir apparent.

What do u mean by this? I didn’t realize Arlington had a big futsal coach last year. I mean big enough to draw participants.

Well I guess they're waiting to see which ECNL kids accept their offers before moving down the list to the "outsiders" lol

Probably trying to secure more practice facilities so they can make more money.
