Seems like ECNL has been picking off CCL clubs to join the ECNL RL one by one. |
None so far this year but I think it's too early to make announcements at this time with an entire Spring season still to play. Last year there were a few. Arlington/Loudoun, Fredericksburg, Legacy, Beach FC, Skyline. |
Would make much more sense to combine with EDP. Ccl has been pushing for a true regional league and this could help it out and help keep them from essentially folding |
CCL & EDP would be more likely than CCL and ECNL |
CCl Facebook page says there is a BIG Announcement today???
We shall see... |
Thats exactly what is confirmed to be happening- EDP enveloping CCL- CCL will "keep its name only" type deal- schedules will be seen on the EDP pages. |
Well, CCL today lost Valor and McLean to ECNL-RL. Another death knell for them. |
Wait, the BIG announcement is a social media tournament? Social media fail if you ask me. The Valor/Mclean announcement was bigger. |
FC Richmond as well |
McLean was bound to happen with their top teams in ECNL already. |
CCL is pretty much done with these departures. Very few NOVA clubs (5) remaining to do anything meaningful with EDP. At this point only remaining options would be EDP or NCSL unless they can still make their way into ECNL-R. |
Last year it was Fredericksburg FC, VA Legacy, Loudoun Soccer, Beach FC, SOCA, and Arlington This year it's Valor, McLean, FC Richmond, and BRYC |
And still no announcement from CCL or EDP other than a post above. Where is the link? This is the time when parents/kids start looking at other options and what league kids are playing in matters alot. |
If CCL had a great plan, I would think they would be marketing it. |
I noticed that CCL FL, CCL GA, CCL NE have been removed from the CLL website.
