Wanting to go back to the gym but have no clue where to start. I have 40-50lbs to lose. I'm guessing I need good lighting and cardio routines? Anyone willing to share their routines or must-dos, please?
Hi there

Normally, kids phase out of naps around 3 1/2-4. However, as the PP said, quiet time usually takes the place of nap time.
When you go back to work and your nanny is caring for both the toddler and newborn, she should start forming a basic routine... Expect this to change every so often as the babies needs will change as he gets older.

As a nanny, I have used the Bjorn but sometimes it can also get in the way . Try bath time with your toddler when the infant is sleeping, or maybe even incorporate it into your nannies duties. Not all nannies are comfortable with this, so maybe discuss it with her.

It's tough, but I promise it gets easier!
Quiet time is something a lot of preschool aged children have difficulty with - I would suggest trying to make quiet time a more 'enjoyable' time for him. Does he like music? Either a CD player on or something where he has his own headphones. Favorite books or stuffed animals and blankets.

Explain to him that it's quiet time, and that not only does he have to stay in his room, but he has to stay in his bed. He is definitely at an age where he'll try you and will get out of bed, and come out of his room a million times- but you have to be consistent in putting him back in bed every single time. If he cries or screams, let him. As long as he is hurting himself, you, or damaging anything, crying won't harm him.

It could take a few days, or it could take a month, but you have to be consistent Hang in there!
All babies and children develop at different rates. I wouldn't be too concerned with this, so my advice would be just wait it out and bring it up at the 9 month appointment if it's still an issue.

Another thought... Does she get a lot of ear infections? A little boy I cared for frequently got them and after getting tubes he started 'talking' more and more.
