I delivered vaginally with Elliott. Lashgari was with me all day as I labored naturally but I was transitioned to Elliott since he was on call that night. There was no push to do a c-section even though it had been awhile. I had a doula too. I made my desires for a natural, vaginal birth VERY clear from the beginning of my time at their practiced. Ended up with an epidural after 24 hours of labor and stalling due to exhaustion. Good luck.
Ahh, the waiting game. I was certain of my due date and it came and went with absolutely no progress on my end. I kept plugging along, walking, doing yoga, SLEEPING, acupuncture and made no progress. My body just didn’t quite know how to get him out. I had a little anxiety but I think it was mainly from other people saying “you’re still pregnant” or calling/emailing and asking if I’d had the baby yet. Clearly, I hadn’t and I promised them I would let them know once he arrived. I stopped taking phone calls or returning emails at that point. I ended up being induced at 41 weeks, 5 days as he was showing some signs of distress (and I wasn’t dilated at all) and ended up delivering vaginally the following day. (Labored about 24 hours without an epidural, once I stopped progressing from exhaustion, I got the epidural.) I am so happy that we waited as long as we did and looking back, it really was a special time…not without its ups and downs…but a time of great excitement and anticipation. Am not pregnant with #2 and wonder if he/she will be late. I sort of assume so but who knows? As long as the baby is okay and you are too, THERE IS NO RUSH! Several of our friends went into labor 4-6 weeks prior to their due dates and that is much more concerning than being late. Good luck!
I drank coffee until I was about 5 weeks PG and then the smell of it made me gag! Started drinking it in the second trimester (about 3-4 cups per week) and all was fine. PG again...and the smell still makes me sick. Will likely start again when this is over!
The Alexandria Turkey Trot in Del Ray http://www.alexandriaturkeytrot.com/ is fantastic. Not hilly at all. Looks of good energy! Fun way to start the day!
I have very irregular periods so knew that timing was a huge issue. I took one round of Clomid (50mg dose) with no side effects and took an Ovidrel shot to trigger ovulation. It was all I needed. I'm pregnant with our first and just waiting for his arrival. He was due yesterday...so worked for me. I was diagnosed with PCOS as well.
