We had this idea for our firetruck-crazed son, too. Does anyone know if DC firehouses either allow parties or do kid-friendly tours, around which we could plan a home-based party?

I'd continue with underwear and potty training for sure---no backtracking to diapers---but make sure that you and DH are on the same page.
