| My son is obsessed with firefighters and fire trucks and I would love to include a fire station visit for his 3rd birthday party however i'm having a difficult time finding a station in montgomery county that "hosts" birthday parties. anyone know of a station that would be willing to have some 3 yr. olds visit for a tour of the station and some fire safety lessons. thanks so much! |
| Have you tried the all-volunteer stations? I have no clue if they'd be more amenable to it. You could contact the union, too, see if that's a better place to start. It might be a safety/liability issue, so don't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen. Good luck. |
| I know you asked for Montgomery County, but if you are willing to travel a bit, I know that they hold birthday parties at the Falls Church, VA fire department. The website is: http://www.fallschurchvfd.org/, and then click on the "Birthday Parties" link on the left. |

Another Virginia suggestion: The Vienna VFD also allows bday parties.

| We had this idea for our firetruck-crazed son, too. Does anyone know if DC firehouses either allow parties or do kid-friendly tours, around which we could plan a home-based party? |
| Every station in every jurisdiction should be willing to do kids tours. Birthday parties might be a different story. Ask to speak with the Captain when you call. |
| We just went to a 3 yo's birthday party hosted at Kensington Volunteer Fire Dept, it was lots of fun!.... |
Yes. I went there also, It's up Connnecticut. |

Yep - Kensington does a good one and has a large "party room" w/ tables and chairs, etc. They take the kids downstairs and they can actually climb in a truck and try on the gear. Parking was not so great. This is the one at the corner of Conn Ave and Plyers Mill.
I think Cabin John on River Rd also does parties. |
