I didn't see the U13 Bethesda team in the showcase, and was wondering why.
Anyone?

Thanks in advance

Doesn't look like they've reached the final yet.Semi's are next weekend. https://www.vysa.com/thestatecup

Thanks. That's USYS. I'm asking about the Club Soccer state cup or as they call it...VPSL.

I had no idea there were 2 state cups! VPSL looks like a smaller field with only a few strong teams. Are there really just 7 teams in a tournament that declares a statewide winner?
Yes, there's only a few teams. obviously it's not as "prestigious" as the USYS state cup (and there's plenty of people that like to slam the USYS state cup because ECNL teams (and MLS Next teams on the boys side) don't join. But it is what it is. VPSL was/is the previous NPL league that now turns into ECNL-R at U13 I THINK, so VPSL state cup is really only a league championship....but a championship none the less.

I did not go to the first night of tryouts, and hard to get information from my DD on how many girls, etc. She is coming from another area club and is on top team but not ECNL.

Is that correct ... at least for 2022-2023?
(Slightly related, I'm just learning that ECNL-RL only plays in the fall for high school ages ... at least here in VA.)

He loves his friends on the team and loves to play but he's definitely not learning anything new. I'm not sure if we should supplement with individual coaching or find a new team.
Is this normal? What are your kids doing in practice?

there is no trust anymore. bethesda has lost that with too many families and its one person causing it
the boys side seems fine.
SoccerBug123 wrote:How does Bethesda cancel weekend games on a Friday afternoon? People lose money on hotels at that point. We all know about the ref shortage but ECNL pays better than every other league. There is no way I'm accepting that excuse.
vasoccerdad wrote:Well, the CCL has finally posted their plans.Looks like there is now only one competition level and the state has been divided into three regions. A few of the lower level teams remain and several lower end teams such as Valley AFC in Roanoke have made it in.
Fortunately, many of the better clubs that have left the CCL will be reunited in the ECNL-R as many have been acceprted.
Best of luck to the remaining and new CCl clubs.
