Extreme redshirting, DMV edition ...

In the spring, one was second-team All-Met and another was honorable mention (granted, both sophomores, but another sophomore made the first team).

In the fall, one was honorable mention All-Met as a junior.

Is this all a fluke of age-grouping, or is All-Met not quite plugged into things? Or has the USSF scouting department overlooked a couple dozen superior players in the DMV alone?

Congrats to all three, in any case. One has signed to play for my Bulldogs. (Well, where I grew up -- can't really say "my" if I didn't go to school there, I guess.)

All met isn't plugged into things. HS soccer is social more than anything, especially around here.

So would it be the case that maybe these particular players didn't do much when they were playing for their high schools? Or maybe missed a bunch of games to play with their clubs?

I think if I'm doing All-Met for the Post, I'm checking with every scout and every scouting service I can find. If someone's getting called into national camps, I'm going to say it's safe to assume there aren't 30 better high school players out there.

I did find a couple of their football selections ... idiosyncratic?

US Soccer should use the Washington Post for their scouting? What a ridiculous post.

There are other words in these paragraphs besides "US Soccer," "Washington Post" and "scouting." You can't just insert your own.

Well, I mean, maybe you could. Let's see ... US Soccer purple monkey dishwasher Washington Post teakettle Doberman Caps win the Cup again scouting. Hey, that's fun!
All three play high school soccer.

The girls’ results don’t support this ludicrous claim.

At competitive level meaning HS kids.. absolute garbage

Girls
05/06 1-5-3 -13 GD
07 2-7 -33GD!!!!
08 7-2
09 0-9 -25 GD

Boys
05/06 1-4-2
07 3-4
08 0-7
09 1-6

Yep, you picked the older years for a club midway through its second season. The older years are competing against teams that have been together for many years. VYS and BRYC lost players to those clubs years before Brave formed, and I don’t know why they would move to Brave.

10G & 11G are both 5-3-1. 3 of the 4 girls’ teams coached by VYS coaches have winning records.

If you think having young age groups is indicative of how they will play in HS you are in a rude awakening. They will get cherry picked. Claiming success when over 50% is getting smoked is comical. Sorry Brave is a joke

Calling the entire club garbage and a joke sounds like you're disgruntled and have a wordy axe to grind. Sounds like you want all of these you girls and teenagers to fail to make yourself feel better which says more about you than the club. Gook luck with that.

First of all the club has two gender groups. And every boy team is a failure. And the girls are getting destroyed.. Hard to be disgruntled when my kids are teams that smoked ya

Your kids must be very proud to have a dad who comes on a message board and anonymously brags about results involving 10-year-old soccer players.
What do coaches make in other countries if they're not with a large pro club's academy?
Now offering club-based AND team-based? Wasn't "club-based" the whole point?
