Looking at these forums, are you sure they're not all millionaires? |
What do coaches make in other countries if they're not with a large pro club's academy? |
7k-8k per team for the U-littles plus all your kids can play for free in NCSL. This equals about $40 per hour. Mileage is on you. The parents are supposed to put you un in a hotel or pay airfare for a tournament out of the local area. |
Underpaid |
SYC parent here - coaches are underpaid. The parents will pay for the coaches' hotel, airfare and daily meals for tournaments. And if you are on the top team, parents will take care of the coach so their kids can have play time. JR the 2008 just posted on his IG he got a red Dodge Charger SRT as a rental while in GA for the Capelli showcase. He also leverage his team to promote his private training sessions. Half the kids that sign up for his group session is on his current team and only signs up so they can have a starting position. |
Dang never seen parents pay for all that, is that part of the contract? |
I'm sure JR paid for the car on his own and if he didn't it's possible he got upgraded by rental spot. It's not fair to assume that parents were required to pay for that. Hotel for out of town tournaments is expected. Meals is a maybe but not for local tournaments. At a team dinner a coaches meal is usually covered by all the parents which doesn't come out to a more than a couple of bucks each. |
The TDs, not the coaches are who is raking it in. The poor coaches aren't making much. Alexandria's TD was making $350k/year. |
Sure, you are right. He probably did pay for the upgrade on his own with all that extra money from his side hustle - selling designer inspired jewelry and private training sessions.

Is he not able to make money on his own time outside of the team. If he is able to run multiple businesses to increase his income why does that matter. Good for him. Most coaches have a 9-5, his are unconventional hours. He doesn't force anyone to buy jewelry or signup for private sessions. I'm sure there are some of his team's players participating but it looks like most others are from other teams he has no association with. I don't see anything shady from that. Not sure why the hate. I know a few that did his private training and seemed content. |
Yes, its always the ones on top who does not that makes the most.

Agree. I've never seen parents having to pony up outside of fees for anything coach related. Personally, as a parent, I don't want to have to figure that stuff out. Build it into the coaches' contract and just send me the bill. |
SYC is milking their parents. I don't know what our club fee pays for besides mediocre coaches.
