Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that with the second it was a C-section after 36 hours of labor. I also breastfed both children. So I'm done with doing things to my body. Come on, he can do a minor operation - it is not considered "major" operation medically. The problem with withholding sex is that I am also withholding it from myself, haha. I guess one has to do what it takes for the greater good!

My husband and I both 100% we don't want any more kids, and we are deathly afraid of getting pregnant by accident. (We have a 2 babies under 2.)We are careful now, but need a long-term, reliable solution. I don't want to be on birth control and he doesn't want to wear condoms (not that either are super reliable). Both my pregnancies were HORRIBLE and my quality of life during that time went down to zero (nausea 24/7 - could barely walk, sit, etc.) I feel like we women do all the work, suffer the most, and then after pregnancy and childbirth we are still expected to add hormones or insert things into our bodies so we don't get pregnant while the man continues to do whatever he wants without a worry. This is completely unfair. In a situation like ours, he can get an in-office operation that lasts about 15 minutes and we could have peace of mind. He may need a few weeks to heal but that is nothing compared to taking hormones for the rest of your life or inserting objects in yourself that are often painful as well. (The IUD killed me.)

He doesn't want to do it because he feels it takes away his "manhood." All of my friend's SOs have either done it or is open, so I'm hoping he will come around. I guess this is part venting, and part wanting to hear successful vasectomy stories that I can use to persuade him.
I'd like to hear perspectives on full-time vs part-time preschool. My 2-yr old daughter is in a full-time preschool right now, and seems happy and well-adjusted, and doesn't act up when she gets home. But I've read and know a lot of moms in favor of part-time options. What are the pros and cons of each? We both work FT so a PT preschool schedule would mean finding a nanny for the remainder of the day. Is it worth the hassle and cost to have the more personalized care at home for half the day/week or is FT school fine if the child seems happy? Any developmental benefits either way?

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Thanks,
Anna
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has heard of Sunrise Early Learning Center in Gaithersburg/Derwood, MD. We just started sending our 2 yr old and 9 month old there after a move, but now I am looking at surrounding options. I'm finding that almost every other daycare/preschool costs about $1000-$1200 more per month than Sunrise. Most of these are chains like KinderCare, La Petite Academy, or montessori, but I'm wondering if they are really worth the price difference. My daughters seem happy at Sunrise, and I'm debating whether to keep them there or put them in a more expensive preschool for what may or may not be better care.

Any thoughts on this, or experience with Sunrise, would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Anna
