I'd like to hear perspectives on full-time vs part-time preschool. My 2-yr old daughter is in a full-time preschool right now, and seems happy and well-adjusted, and doesn't act up when she gets home. But I've read and know a lot of moms in favor of part-time options. What are the pros and cons of each? We both work FT so a PT preschool schedule would mean finding a nanny for the remainder of the day. Is it worth the hassle and cost to have the more personalized care at home for half the day/week or is FT school fine if the child seems happy? Any developmental benefits either way?
Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks, Anna |

I'm a parent of twins who did PT preschool + nanny. If I had 1 kid no way would I deal with the hassle and cost of piecing things together, especially not when she's already happy in a FT daycare. Don't mess with success!
As long as she's happy and well cared for, don't worry at all. |

Agree with PP that if she is happy then leave it as is. I have 2 daughters who went to preschool FT - they are currently thriving in elementary school along with many peers who did the PT/nanny route.
Good luck! |
