This is Shelley from Jabberu. I hope you get helpful feedback from readers, but I did want to remind folks that you can schedule a free trial class with us. Call 1-888-951-1119 to schedule at any of our 3 centers.
This trial class is an excellent opportunity to meet the teacher, see the center, look at the "Guide to Growing Up Global," ask questions and of course, experience firsthand what a class is like.

Best!
Hola - Jabberu posting. Keep in mind that you can schedule a free trial class for your son to see how he enjoys our Spanish class, meet the teacher, see the center, check out our parent resource guide, etc. Whether it's at Jabberu or not, incouraging your son's interest in learning another language and thereby learning about another culture, is valuable to him now and in the future. Best of luck!

I wanted to let parents out there know that Jabberu can come to your child’s school or childcare center to provide language classes. Often the school directly contacts us, but sometimes it takes an interested parent getting involved and engaging us, to get things moving. We already teach classes at a number of schools in DC, MD and VA – but we often hear from parents that they didn’t know we offered this service, which can be during the school day or as an after-school enrichment class.
If you’d like Spanish, French or Chinese classes in your child’s school, or you have questions, call 888-951-1119. We can tell you more about our approach to teaching, our instructors and the support materials provided for at-home reinforcement.

Jabberu was selected for the second year in a row as “Best in Foreign Language Learning” by readers of Family Magazine.

This is Shelley from Jabberu - we get this question a lot - here's what I ususally tell people:
For young children (I don't think we know the age of OP's child) no language is harder to learn than another; the young brain is wired to learn language. One possible way to help make the decision is to ask yourself which language you'd be most excited about your child learning if the child is too young to express a specific interest. If you're excited about the language learning process, your child will pick up on that. Or is there a language that you have some background with? You may feel more comfortable reinforcing one language over another, at home.

A couple of other things to keep in mind - some of which other posters have mentioned. Learning a language at a young age makes learning other languages later in life easier. Learning a language opens other doors in addition to future careers - travel opportunities, friendships, interntional study.

In short - I don't think you'll regret either decision.
Hi - This is Shelley from Jabberu. I'm wondering if the person who had a bad experience at our story time would mind sharing what the problem was. We hate to hear that any customer is disappointed and always look for ways to improve.

You could post your response here or write directly to me - shelley@jabberu.com

Hi - This is Jabberu (full disclosure). We're having a cultural open house at our Bethesda center tomorrow, Saturday April 25th from 2:30 - 4:00 (we'll also be doing open house events at our Gaithersburg and Ashburn centers at the same time). This is a great opportunity to meet some of our instructors, including Soledad our head Spanish teacher, who will be doing activities with the kids, learn about the program and possibly even meet some of our currently enrolled families.

Anyway, I know you're seeking feedback from people not invovled with the center, but I wanted to let you know about this opportunity.
